The Daintree Rainforest is located in north-eastern Queensland, Australia. Its location is important because it is near the equator, which is why it is so hot there, an important thing for many of the animals living here. The area it is in is known as the wet tropics of Queensland; the wet tropics cover about 8995 km in total and the Daintree alone takes up around 170 km (Buckman, n.d.).
